Overview
Shank'd is a golf community and scoring app developed by HavenLabs. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's core features. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Information We Collect
Account information
- Name and email address, provided when you create an account
- Profile photo, if you choose to upload one
- Display name and initials used within the app
Golf and activity data
- Scores, hole-by-hole results, and round history
- Your Shank'd Golf Rating (SGR) — a calculated average based on your round history
- Club selection logs, when you choose to record shots during a round
Location data
- GPS coordinates collected during active rounds, when you use the shot-tracking or distance features
- Location is only accessed while the app is in the foreground and a round is in progress
- We do not track your location outside of active rounds
Device and usage data
- Push notification tokens, used to send round invites and achievement alerts
- Basic app usage data collected automatically by our infrastructure provider
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To record, display, and calculate your golf scores and SGR rating
- To show your profile and stats to other members of your club
- To send push notifications for round invites, achievements, and club activity
- To display GPS-based distances and record shot locations during active rounds
- To operate leaderboards, event management, and scoring features
Information Shared With Others
Your profile, scores, and SGR rating are visible to other members within your Shank'd club. This is a core feature of the app — leaderboards and scoring are community-facing by design.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Third-Party Services
Shank'd uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Your account data, scores, and uploaded photos are stored on Supabase's servers. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant. Learn more at supabase.com/privacy.
- Expo / EAS — used to deliver the app and push notifications to your device.
- Apple — the App Store and Apple Push Notification service (APNs) are used to distribute the app and deliver notifications on iOS devices.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and round history will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Your Rights
You may, at any time:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for location access in your device's Settings app

Children's Privacy
Shank'd is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
